This card, when used in the Yoto Player, tells the story of Sir John Harington – the inventor of the toilet. He was a courtier of Queen Elizabeth I, and his invention was inspired by a trip to the Continent where he saw similar devices being used. His invention was initially met with ridicule, but Harington persevered and eventually his idea caught on! This is a fun and interesting way to learn about one of history’s most important (and sometimes unappreciated!) figures.
