The player controls bounty hunter Samus Aran, who must search the planet SR388 for Metroids and destroy them. The game features Metroid-stalkers, Metroids that have been bio-engineered to be immune to Samus’s weaponry. The game also features Samus’s Zero Suit, which she can use to move faster and jump higher.
